30th Anniversary
The University of Louisville Tae Kwon Do Club celebrated its 30th Anniversary on December 1, 2007 with a banquet and awards presentation. Grand Master Kim and Grand Master Brockway joined Senior Master Patrick Smith in sharing their reflections on the 30 year history of the club. All three were presented with a bound book recounting the history of the club and containing pictures that dated from the initial days to current students.
The U of L club was formed in 1977 by Grand Master Brockway; later that year the first testing was held. There were twelve students, including Senior Master Smith, in that first testing. Remarks by Grand Masters Kim and Brockway and Senior Master Smith noted the many accomplishments of the club over the years and encouraged those students present to continue to carry on the traditions well into the future.
